Product highlight: Epson SureColor Desktop Printers

Epson has brought the best of its wide-format printer technology to two new desktop printers: the 13-inch SureColor P700 and the 17-inch SureColor P900. These units are compact compared to previous SureColor P-Series desktop printers while boasting innovations such as 2.4 and 5 Ghz wireless networking.

The printer drivers have seen remarkable improvement. New Epson Media Installer software eliminates the frustration of determining settings and profiles. Instead, it’s just one step to download media settings, install a profile, configure the printer and media parameters, and create driver settings. To print, simply select your media, and the printer and printer driver make the adjustments. Both printers are compatible with the new updated Epson Print Layout software, providing a color managed printing application for iOS devices.

The MicroPiezo AMC Print Head is designed to last the life of the printer and boasts an ink-repelling coating that reduces the chances of nozzle clog. Both printers use Epson UltraChrome Pro10 10-color ink sets—25 mL cartridges for the SureColor P700 and 50 mL for the SureColor P900. And as with the Epson SureColor P7570 and P9570, there’s no need to switch black inks for photo black and matte black prints.

Users will also appreciate the new 4.3-inch touchscreen interface that makes printing easier and provides more metadata.

The Epson SureColor P700 is priced at $799 and the SureColor P900 is $1,295.
