Product Highlight: Air Direct from Tether Tools

Air Direct is Tether Tools’ new wireless control system. Use it to connect your camera to a computer, tablet, or smartphone for fast file transfers and camera control with your own tethering software such as Adobe Lightroom, Capture One, or Smart Shooter. The system is compatible with all cameras that have the ability to tether, including Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus, Phase One, Hasselblad, and others.

Air Direct couples USB-C technology with 802.11 AC wireless protocol to up the game on transfer speeds directly to your computer (though a cable tether may be better for extremely large capture files). Using dual antennas, the Air Direct range reaches up to 200 feet, depending on file size, and you can broadcast on 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequencies. It uses its own power source with top-loading batteries for quick access and a DC port that you can connect to a USB battery pack or uninterrupted A/C power. You can hot swap power and stay connected.

A free app for Nikon and Canon shooters can be used as the controller. The App supports control over live view, bracketing, time-lapse, focus stacking, and movie mode.
