Bari A. Cruze, M.Photog., CPP, captured “Stairway to Heaven” after a couple’s intimate courthouse wedding and before their restaurant reception. “Our time was limited, the weather was threatening, and we were moving quickly. I loved the repeating lines and the colors in this location,” says Cruze. “We composed and lighted quickly, took four exposures, and moved on.” He wanted to give the couple a visually interesting art piece, he says. He used a ladder to get level with the couple and reduce distortion, and his wife held an off-camera light on a stand as high as it would go.
