PHOTOGRAPHER’S NOTE: The original photo used for Inna Sumra’s image “Lasting Memory” was a cell phone picture her friend made of Sumra standing in the light of a window. In Photoshop, Sumra adjusted the levels and colors of the image and then took it to Corel Painter, where she painted it using a variety of brushes. “I was inspired by impressionist paintings,” she says, and hoped to transform a simple cell snapshot into a “masterpiece.” After she completed the photo in Corel Painter, she printed it out on canvas and used oil paint to further enhance the work.
